Changes to the Study Hall Policy
Your concerns were passed on to the administration. Highlands is in the process of making some changes to the Study Hall Policy. As soon as they are finalized, I will make more announcements. Thank you for your patience.
Changes have Been Made
As it stands now, if a student is absent they will no longer go to Silent Lunch before Study Hall. He/she will go directly to the stage while second graders are eating to complete his/her make-up work. This allows the student to be able to eat lunch with his/her peers.
Furthermore, a student who has not completed a graded class assignment in the allotted time will have the unfinished problems counted as incorrect. A sticker will be placed on the assignment which asks parents to complete the work at home with their child, sign it, and return the assignment to class the next day. There will be no Study Hall time given for not finishing a graded assignment during class time in third grade.
Missing homework will be treated the same way as originally planned at the beginning of the school year.
